I prayed for you

While holding Miss A tonight I started thinking, "I prayed for that face, I prayed for all that hair, look at those sweet lips--God, you listened!  I prayed for them, too."  It was such a sweet time with her.  She was my innocent little (big 21.6 pound) baby.  These days she is on the move, crawling and pulling up on everything!  There is just so much to discover after only being carried around and seeing everything from 4 feet off the ground : )

Your tiny fingers and tiny toes, your puffy little hands, and rolls around your thighs, your dark brown eyes--I don't want to take any of it for granted.  I know that life is a gift from God, I know that only He has the power to give and take away.  I also know that sometimes our gifts are with us for a short time (your siblings in Heaven), and that they may come in forms we did not expect or ask for.  Did you know that you are not "entitled" to your precious little feet, or all 5 of your perfect fingers, even your ears, the ability to move the way you do?  They are all a big, wonderful gift from God, my sweet girl.  Don't ever take them for granted.

Also, don't ever think that you are better than someone else because you have those things and they don't.  They too are a gift, they were given a special challenge to overcome to the Glory of God so treat them with love.

I love you sweet girl with all my heart!  You are the gift of life that your Daddy and I prayed for.  Your little life, your sweet sounds, your silly personality and stubborn ways--all of them are God's gracious gift to us.  In your 9 months of life you have blessed me for a lifetime.

 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

   your works are wonderful,
   I know that full well.  -Psalm 139:14

Thank you Lord for letting Chad and I experience parenthood on earth.  Thank you for our sweet miracle.

Brought a tear to my eye as I often reflect on the same things when holding my children. Thank you so much for sharing!
