First Easter

Oh how much fun we had with our sweet little girl on her first Easter!!  Thank you Jesus for giving us the greatest gift in Eternal Life, and thank you so for giving us a sweet girl to teach about You!
Easter is such a special time for my family!  We get to celebrate the "GREATEST DAY IN HISTORY" when Jesus conquered the grave and created a way for us to know Him personally and spend eternity with Him!  This was Miss A's first Easter.  So, even though she doesn't know about the fun of choosing her easter dress, getting white shoes or going Easter egg hunting--her mommy does.  So, I had the fun for her.  : )  I found her Easter dress in early March. At that point she was 3 months old still comfortably wearing size Newborn. She was a petite little girl...  That quickly changed about 2 weeks after I purchased her dress!  ha.  My sweet girl went from being in the 17th percentile group to the 40th.  Which I am thankful for, but I could not exchange her dress for a different size!  I could not find it online, or find one that I liked better...  so, my dad had the idea to add lace to the bottom to give it more length (it still fit fine in the bodice).  That is exactly what we did!  I bought the lace and Grammie added it to the dress and made us a yellow headband to match!  So fun!  Thank you, Grandpa for the idea! : )

Her Easter basket had a few eggs in it (its not like she would be eating candy, and I don't need it!) a super cute bunny and a book about Easter by Tomie de Paola.

Easter morning we went to church and were joined by a lot of family!  My sweet cousin was being baptized by my dad and so a lot of family had come to watch.  I managed to get ready including curling my hair, ha.  And getting Miss dressed and set to go.  We got there early enough to do some visiting and then the service started leaving us on the 2nd row!  I was planning for A to spend the rest of the service in the nursery, but did not want to make a scene leaving!  So, we tried this out...  and of course, my sweet girl enjoyed the music, enjoyed a little of her bottle (there were too many distractions) and held her great-grandmas hand.  It was very special and I was so glad she was able to be there with us!  It was Easter Sunday 2 years prior that my Aunt Judy came and sat with me on the front pew while I cried my eyes out.  She held me and told me that my babies were in Heaven.  Something I needed to hear, even if I knew it--I needed someone else to know it, and tell me so.  Last year I was pregnant and Chad and I made our parents keep it quiet for a loooooong time.  But still, I was rejoicing on the inside.  So to have my sweet blessing sitting with me was so special.  After the service we went to mom and dads for brisket, and all the yummy sides that are expected when you put the Mitchell family together!  Here are some pictures from the day!
